Parliament finally approves the FAA Military Careers Law

Luanda, ANGOLA, July 21 - The Angolan parliament this Friday approved, by unanimous vote, the proposals of Law of the Careers of Military and Posts and Badges of the Military of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).,

The approval of these legal acts occurred during the 11th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the 1st Legislative Session of the IV Legislature of the National Assembly, chaired by the speaker of this sovereign body, Fernando da Piedade Dias Dos Santos.

The proposal of the FAA Military Careers Law aims at defining the principles and procedures to be observed in the development and progression of the military careers of the Angolan Armed Forces, the rights and duties, as well as to discipline its management.

The grounding report notes that the structure of the military careers, due to the singularity of the duties and competencies of the FAA, which are unequivocally different from the other servants of the State, follow their own ordering.

It states that the development of military careers is regulated according to the form of service provided by the military and is based on the same parameters for all branches of the FAA.

The Proposed Law on Military Positions and Distinctive of Armed Forces aims to define the hierarchy of FAA military posts and badges in order to harmonize the relations of authority and subordination among the military.
