AttackIQ Selected as a San Diego Technology Business for the United States Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Tour

Cybersecurity Start-Up Announces New SPAWAR Contract with Department of Navy

/EINPresswire.com/ -- SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 28, 2017) - AttackIQ™, a leader in the emerging market of continuous security validation, was selected by the senior technology leaders from the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and supporting agencies as a stop in the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Tour of San Diego technology businesses. The tour is designed to learn more about San Diego's emerging technology start-ups' cyber capabilities to support the warfighter. AttackIQ also announced its new Department of the Navy, SPAWAR, contract award, which provides an easy contract vehicle for the Department of Defense, Services, and supporting agencies to gain access to the company's FireDrill™ platform.

Historically, the DoD CIO participates in an annual Silicon Valley tour to gain insight into the latest IT technologies, cybersecurity and business innovations. Due to the recent growth in the San Diego IT business sector, the tour expanded to southern California. This year's tour included 40 high-ranking participants from DoD CIO, Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy CIOs, the NIST Director and six CIOs from key partner nations including Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

"San Diego has rapidly become a center of innovation for start-ups due to its close ties between the military and industry," said Ken Slaght (RADM retired), CCOE Co-Chair & President. "We were exceptionally pleased to highlight some of the most innovative technologies from the region that could have broad military applicability to the DoD senior leadership."

As part of the tour, AttackIQ provided an in-depth overview and demonstration of how its preventative attack platform, FireDrill, can augment Red Teams by significantly increasing automated testing of DoD networks and system security controls using the NSA Technical Threat Framework (NSCSAR). Additionally, the AttackIQ team performed an attack simulation using the MITRE Attack Matrix framework and identified how the simulation can efficiently and effectively be used to train DoD cyber operators.

"We were honored to showcase our technology and participate in this year's tour," said Carl Wright, Chief Revenue Officer of AttackIQ. "We agreed that in order for the DoD to ensure that all existing security controls are successfully operating and security operators are prepared to face our nation's cyber adversaries, they must utilize an Offensive Defense strategy that leverages automated security validation and attack simulations."
