President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a workshop, where issues of caring for crops cereals and also land preparation and agrotechnology for a sowing campaign, were discussed, Trend reports via "Altyn Asyr" TV channel.
The president instructed to pay special attention to increasing the yield of wheat and ordered to strengthen control over the timely care of land, particularly watering wheat fields, recharging mineral fertilizer and carrying out inter-row processing of crops, said the report.
It is planned to receive 1.6 million tons of food grain from some 760,000 hectares of land in 2019, the report said.
In addition, an area of 100,000 hectares is allocated for seed production.
For the production of wheat, the state on favorable terms provides seeds and mineral fertilizers, means for combating agricultural pests.
