Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke about the importance of implementation of the comprehensive program for reforming the agro-industrial complex, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported Jan. 20.
The Turkmen head noted that priority should be given to improving the profitability of all areas of agriculture and rural associations, attracting representatives of private business to the agrarian sector.
It is necessary to use new, effective methods of managing the agro-industrial complex, widely introduce the best world experience, said President Berdimuhamedov.
Meanwhile, he gave relevant instructions to Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev in this regard.
The Turkmen president ordered to take under special control the issues of timely preparation of machinery and ensuring high quality of seeds before the sowing of cotton, which is an important condition for obtaining rich cotton, according to the report.
Cotton occupies an important place in Turkmen exports and is a demanded raw material for dozens of modern facilities dynamically developing in the country’s textile industry.
Overall area of cultivated land is more than 500,000 hectares.
