UPDATED:

Perkiomen Valley senior forward Grace Galbavy, who helped lead the Vikings to their first-ever PIAA Championship, was named Class 6A Player of the Year while PV head coach John Russo was chosen as 6A Coach of the Year as the 2025 Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State Girls Basketball teams were announced Thursday.

Archbishop Wood sophomore Ryan Carter was named Class 5A Player of the Year while Lansdale Catholic coach Tom Lonergan was selected Class 4A Coach of the Year.

Galbavy, a Wake Forest commit, earned all-state honors for the third straight season, named to the first team after being a second-team selection as a sophomore and junior.

Perk Valley’s Quinn Boettinger, a Navy commit, and Bella Becani, a Jefferson University commit were both named to the 6A second team. Boettinger was a third-team pick last year.

The Vikings, who also won the Pioneer Athletic Conference and District 1 championships, finished with a 30-3 overall record after defeating Upper St. Clair 58-27 in the PIAA final March 28 in Hershey.

Boettinger scored a game-high 16 points in the state final, Galbavy added 14 points while Bacani contributed seven points.

Archbishop Carroll’s Alexis Eberz joined Galbavy on the 6A first team. The junior guard, who earned second team honors last season, helped the Patriots reach the Philadelphia Catholic League final and the PIAA semifinals.

Pennridge senior guard Ella Brown, a Holy Family commit, and Cheltenham junior guard Maya Simmons were named to the 6A third team. Simmons helped the Panthers win the Suburban One League Freedom Division title and qualify for the PIAA tournament after placing eighth in District 1.

Carter, a 5-11 sophomore guard, was named 5A Player of the Year as the Vikings came up a win short of a fifth consecutive PIAA title and ended the season 22-8. Carter scored a game-best 23 points in the state final as Wood fell to South Fayette 45-37.

Carter, who as a freshman at Penn Charter last season earned Class 3A second-team honors, is ninth in ESPN’s HoopGurlz Class of 2027 national recruit rankings.

Senior Emily Knouse made it two from Archbishop Wood on the Class 5A first team, the St. Joseph’s commit earning first-team honors for the second consecutive season. Knouse knocked down seven 3-pointers in scoring 24 points in the Vikings’ state quarterfinal win over Bethlehem Catholic.

Lonergan, in his first season with Lansdale Catholic after successful stints at Bishop McDevitt, Central Bucks East and Gwynedd Mercy Academy, earned 4A Coach of the Year honors after the Crusaders reached the PIAA final for the third time in the past four seasons and finished 23-6.

Lansdale Catholic had two players earn all-state honors as senior point guard Sanyiah Littlejohn was selected to the second team and senior forward Grace McDonough made the third team.

Littlejohn, a George Mason commit, scored a game-high 21 points in the Crusaders’ 48-45 loss to Neumann-Goretti in the state final. McDonough, a James Madison commit, was an all-state third-team pick for the second straight season.

Germantown Academy senior Gabby Bowes, a Millersville commit, was selected to the Non-PIAA Classification second team.
