Dan Eugene Drum, 73, died peacefully on February 26, 2025, surrounded by family at Vitas Hospice Center in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born February 1, 1952, to the late Paul (“Doc”) and Ruth (English) Drum. Dan grew up in Woodsfield, graduating from Woodsfield High School in the class of 1970. He was a Vietnam War veteran honorably serving in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he graduated from San Diego State University and became a certified public accountant. He spent his corporate career in Los Angeles, Calif., retiring from Fox Entertainment in 2019. In retirement, Dan and his wife Irma relocated to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Dan always enjoyed coming back to Woodsfield to renew old acquaintances and visit family. He was a dedicated fan of Monroe Central Seminoles and Ohio State Buckeyes sports teams and was especially proud of OSU’s recent National Championship. He also loved tennis and scuba diving. Dan wishes all his Woodsfield High School classmates a great 55th Reunion this coming June.
Dan is survived by his wife of 17 years Irma Drum (Cabo San Lucas, Mexico), sister Donna Parr (Conroe, Texas), nephew Jase (Kim) Parr (Conroe, Texas), great nephew Lucas Parr (Conroe, Texas), aunt Jeanne Egger (Woodsfield), stepsons Hector, Rafael and Arturo VillaviCencio (Mexico) and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Gene Parr.
