Army officer arrested at Florida Air Force base, accused of sexual battery against woman

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS12) — A U.S. Army Intelligence Officer is accused of forcefully restraining a woman and sexually battering her in December of 2024.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, David McGillivray was booked on counts of sexual battery and aggravated stalking. Deputies say the investigation began after the victim came forward and reported the incident happened at McGillivray's residence.

On Wednesday, McGillivray was arrested and taken into custody at MacDill Air Force Base with help from military personnel.

"Predators who use violence to harm and control others have no place in our community," said Sheriff Chad Chronister.

At this time, the incident is still under investigation.
