Scottie Scheffler Charged with Assaulting Officer Outside PGA Championship

Scottie Scheffler woke up this Friday as if it were April 2024 and showed the best version of himself at Memorial Park Golf Club. Through the 16th hole of the second round, the World No. 1 leads the Houston Open by two strokes over Rasmus Hojgaard.

Fans have been waiting all season for a performance like this from Scheffler, and their reactions on social media have not been long in coming:

"Scottie Scheffler woke up this morning and chose violence," @7amTeeTime said.

"Good Morning. Scottie Scheffler is kicking your favorite golfer's a*s rn," @_JoeSeppi posted.

"Welp it's GGs for Scottie Scheffler," @lillBunnyhop noted.

"Scottie Scheffler must be really good at golf," was the sarcastic comment of @MoneyManSams.

There is no shortage of fans who already see Scheffler winning the Masters Tournament in two weeks.

"Scottie Scheffler will win the masters in a canter," @marty_las73529 said.

"The cure to male loneliness is a Scottie Scheffler 3rd win at Augusta," @collegeFBetc posted.

Scheffler has seven birdies and no bogeys in the second round of the Houston Open. He is 10-under for the tournament with two holes to play and has yet to make his first bogey this week.

The 28-year-old is on pace for a final-round score of 63 or better, by far his best day of the season. Scheffler has yet to break 66 in 2025. He has posted that score twice, in the second round of the Phoenix Open and the fourth round of the Genesis Invitational.

Scheffler can also approach his career low at Memorial Park Golf Club. His best score there is 62 (second round of the 2022 event, when he tied for second).
