Rollins was serving a sentence from Maricopa County for second-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons, and aggravated assault. He had been in custody since 2023.
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Rollins' death. The Office of the Inspector General is handling the investigation.
All inmate deaths are reviewed in collaboration with the county medical examiner's office. More details will be released as they become available.
