Forums are taking place to meet each candidate.
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State University is set to host two finalists for its presidential position next week. The MSU Presidential Search Advisory Committee announced that Dr. Kurt Schnier and Dr. Brock Tessman have accepted invitations to visit the campus.
Dr. Schnier, currently serving as Vice Chancellor for Planning and Budget at the University of California, Merced, will be interviewed on March 25-26, 2025.
Dr. Tessman, the 17th president of Northern Michigan University, will visit on March 27-28, 2025.
The committee encourages faculty, staff, students, and alumni to participate in meetings, events, and an open forum during the visits. Observations and comments will be collected through a survey on the university's website.
This search follows President Waded Cruzado’s announcement of her retirement in June 2025 after 15 years of service. The committee aims to appoint a new president by spring 2025.
