WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Nicholas Brackin, 33, of Waco, was arrested in connection with an armed robbery on Feb. 14, 2025, according to an arrest warrant.

According to police, Brackin took his girlfriend’s gold GMC SUV and, along with an accomplice, drove to the victim’s residence.

They entered the victim’s home without consent while the victim was sleeping, woke him up and demanded money, the affidavit stated.

Brackin, who was armed with a Glock-style handgun, according to police, demanded the victim’s phone passcode to access his bank account.

Police said Brackin forced the victim to transfer $832 through Zelle to Brackin’s girlfriend’s account.

In addition to the money, an Xbox and PlayStation were stolen from the victim’s home, according to the report.

Later, Brackin’s girlfriend was contacted by the police after reporting her SUV as stolen, which was the exact same vehicle shown on security cameras at the scene of the armed robbery, police said.

According to police, while questioning her, police learned Brackin informed her he was transferring money to her account.

Days later, Brackin was arrested and denied any involvement in the robbery or knowledge of the transfer.

However, further investigation revealed text messages in which Brackin mentioned the $832 transfer to his girlfriend.

He was later charged with aggravated robbery. The woman told police Brackin took her SUV without her consent.

No further information was provided.
