The Heart Ball takes place April 26 at the VBC Saturn Ballroom.

Thursday marked the American Heart Association's Lifesaver Day in Alabama. It's part of a national movement to empower our communities - a movement to go from a nation of bystanders to a nation of lifesavers.

It's no secret our North Alabama region has a true heart for the mission from doctors, donors, to the many volunteers.

There are several ways you can join the annual Heart of Huntsville Campaign. One is through attendance and support of the Huntsville Heart Ball, set for April 26 at the VBC Saturn Ballroom.

The other is by lacing up your shoes for the annual Huntsville Heart Walk at Big Spring Park on May 10. Register here

Another way to push the mission forward is by learning hands-only CPR. Minutes, even seconds matter when it comes to surviving a cardiac event. All it takes is 90 seconds to learn hands-only CPR. Remember you could be the difference between life and death for someone.
