A pivotal ministerial meeting, convened under the auspices of the joint Arab-Islamic extraordinary summit concerning developments in Gaza, underscored the urgent need to end the war in Gaza and implement the two-state solution.

The meeting, co-chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, brought together representatives from European and Arab nations on April 29th in Riyadh.

The gathering supported efforts towards an immediate ceasefire, the release of prisoners and hostages, and the cessation of the conflict in Gaza. The ministers also discussed addressing the catastrophic humanitarian crisis and the unilateral violations in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.

Moving Towards a Political Path for Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The meeting emphasized transitioning towards a political trajectory aimed at finding a sustainable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The discussion focused on tangible steps toward the establishment of a Palestinian state, recognizing the critical need for such measures and the importance of coordinated international positions.

The importance of adopting a comprehensive approach to a credible, irreversible path to the two-state solution in accordance with international law, UN Security Council resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and other relevant efforts was reiterated.

The goal is to achieve a just and lasting peace that secures the rights of the Palestinian people and the security of Israel and the region, paving the way for normalized relations in a stable, secure, and cooperative Middle East.
