Anniston Army Depot will host a change of command ceremony at 9 a.m. Thursday in the installation’s Nichols Industrial Complex, according to a news release from the depot.

Col. Marvin Walker, an Alabama native, is slated to assume command of ANAD. His last assignment was a deployment with the 1st Theater Sustainment Command, where he served as the Strategic Plans Chief in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Col. Joel E. Warhurst, ANAD commander since July 27, 2017, will relinquish command to Walker, according to the release, in a ceremony presided over by Maj. Gen. Daniel G. Mitchell, commanding general of Tank-automotive and Armaments Command. TACOM is ANAD’s next higher headquarters.

Anniston Army Depot, with a workforce of about 3,600 government civilians, four military personnel and 800 contractors, provides industrial and technological support in its mission to equip and sustain joint warfighters and allies.
