MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA REALTOR® KATHY WILLIAMS EARNS MILITARY RELOCATION PROFESSIONAL (MRP) CERTIFICATION

I have a deep connection to all Military families and especially to Maxwell Air Force Base where my husband retired as a Major in the United States Air Force.”
— Kathy Williams

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA, USA, February 15, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Kathy Williams is a highly distinguished and reputable REALTOR®/Broker at Century 21 Brandt Wright Realty in Montgomery, Alabama.

Kathy was born in Ocala, Florida and attended Central Florida Community College studying Biology. She then went to Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida to train to be a Histology / Medical Technician. She became licensed with the American Society of Clinical Pathology in 1977.

Kathy met her future husband, Robert, at the University of Florida, where he was completing his undergraduate degree and had received his commission as an Officer in the Marine Corp. They got married and started their military life with a move!

Robert was stationed at Naval Air Station Pensacola before being transferred to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He then took an inter-service transfer from the Marine Corps to the Air Force and the family PCS’d to England Air Force Base in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Kathy recalls this period of time in her life as being miraculous. She says, “In 1988 we had orders to go to Turkey where Robert was to be stationed at Incirlik Air Base, however, out of nowhere we were sent back to Florida so Robert could continue his education at the University of Florida where he got his Master’s Degree in Clinical Pathology. This was truly a blessing because I was able to go back to work at the University of Florida for the first time in years!”

The family was later transferred to Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where Kathy continued to work in the Laboratory Field Services until her family PCS’d to Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, where they’ve lived ever since.

Robert retired as a Major in the United States Air Force and Kathy decided to make her dream come true as a Real Estate agent. She says, “I used to help my dad with his rental properties when I was a teenager in Ocala and I really loved it, but I never had the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming an agent. So, when we moved to Montgomery, I decided to make my dream happen and I went to Real Estate school and got licensed.”

Having worked for so many years in the Lab field, Kathy saw her medical career as a helping people service career, therefore it seemed a natural transition for her to evolve into working in the Real Estate industry. When she first started, she was so nervous that “I would get sick on my stomach when I went to show property, because we had just moved here.”

She recalls, “My area was Tri-County and I didn’t know the region at all. I’d go out in advance and find the properties because I was the Realtor, people expected me to know where I was going! But I made it, and have been blessed with a wonderful and successful Real Estate career! I conquered and overcame!”

Kathy’s first job was with Alfa Realty. She says, “They had a lot of new home sub-divisions in the Montgomery area so it was great training for me.” And, for the past 21 years, Kathy’s motto has been: “Helping Real People, With Real Dreams, Find Real Homes.”

Because of Kathy’s life as a Military spouse, she was extremely excited to learn about the Military Relocation Professional (MRP) being offered in Alabama. She found out about the classes from the National Association of Realtors and went to Fort Rucker in Enterprise, Alabama to take the courses and obtain her Certification. “I’ve always worked with the Military and I understand how hard it is having to be uprooted at a moment’s notice, taken out of school and having to start all over again.” She says, “There are so many adjustments you have to make, but when you’re Military, it’s your lifestyle. You’re unique and set apart from civilians and really only those who are Military truly understand the sacrifices. I’m very proud to be a part of the overall Military picture and I got my MRP Certification so I could better serve the Active-Duty, Veteran’s and their families when they are moving to or from the areas surrounding Maxwell Air Force Base here in Montgomery.”

Maxwell Air Force Base is officially known as Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, which is an installation under the Air Education and Training Command. It occupies the site of the first Wright Flying School where the Wright Brothers, Orville and Wilbur began training students to fly airplanes in 1910.

The host wing for Maxwell-Gunter is the 42d Air Base Wing (42 ABW). Gunter Annex is a separate installation under the 42 ABW. Originally known as Gunter Field, it later became known as Gunter Air Force Station when its runways were closed and its operational flying activity eliminated. It was later renamed Gunter Air Force Base during the 1980s. As a hedge against future Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Gunter AFB was consolidated under Maxwell AFB in March 1992 to create a combined installation known as Maxwell/Gunter AFB. Montgomery also hosts the State Headquarters for the Air National Guard and the Army National Guard.

Kathy says, “I have a deep connection to all Military families and especially to Maxwell Air Force Base where my husband retired as a Major in the United States Air Force. Having spent 37 years with the Military and earning my Military Relocation Professional (MRP) Certification truly lets my clients know that I am consistently striving to learn more to better serve them, just as I did when I completed my Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Certification. My job is to serve you, my Military and Civilian clients.”
