Olapade Talks Tough Ahead Equatorial Guinea, Cote D’Ivoire Open

Lagos – Sunday Olapade, one of the PGA (PGA) of Nigeria’s prolific players is already talking tough ahead of the 3E Actuaries Open Championship in Mongono, Equatorial Guinea and the Cote d’Ivoire Open which will hold in the early weeks of October, 2017.

Nigeria is one of the countries slated for the qualifiers of the  Equatorial Guinea Open and it will hold at the Ibadan Golf Course from October 4-8, while the Cote d’ Ivoire Open will hold from October 11-15 at the A’Ivory Golf Club D’ Abidjan.

Olapade who came second in Kwara Pro-Am which held recently, told INDEPENDENT he was training very hard at the moment at the Ibori Golf and Country Club Asaba to maintain his form.

“At the moment, there’s no tournament to participate; but I’m in Asaba – Ibori Golf Club – to sharpen my game and get ready for the Equatorial Guinea Open qualifiers and Cote d’ lvoire Open.

“I believe that any tournament that come my way now, I’m going to win it by the grace of God because I’m in good shape at the moment,” Olapade said.

Olapade who also won the Honourable Tournament at Miccom, Ada in Osun State before the Pro-Am asserted that his performance at Kwara Pro-Am was a big boost for his present form.

“My last performance was so nice in Kwara @50; before then I was well prepared for the tournament; although I started the tournament on a poor note, but on the last day I played -6 which is 66 gross and that took me from eleven to second position,” he concluded.
