‘As Long As…’: Jailed Ex-Pak PM Imran Khan Warns Army Chief Over Wife’s Detention

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan blamed Army chief General Asim Munir for his wife Bushra Bibi's imprisonment. The 49-year-old, who married the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief in 2018, was convicted in a corruption case and of illegal marriage with Khan. She is currently detained at the couple's Bani Gala residence in Islamabad.

Imran Khan told reporters at the Adiala Jail that General Asim Munir is directly responsible for his third wife, Bushra Bibi's conviction. The former PM made several allegation on his official X, formerly Twitter, account.

The PTI Chief, 71 years old, also warned Munir, saying the judge who convicted Bibi was forced to make the decision.

"General Asim Munir is directly involved in the sentence awarded to my wife. If anything happens to my wife, I will not leave Asim Munir, I will not leave Asim Munir as long as I am alive. I will expose his unconstitutional and illegal steps," Khan threatened.

The former PM further added that the country was goverened under the 'jungle law' and it was being done by the 'king of the jungle'.

"If the king of the jungle wants, all the cases of Nawaz Sharif are forgiven, and when he wants, we are punished in three cases in five days," Khan said.

Imran Khan further spoke about Pakistan's declining economy. He said that it would not stabilise through International Monetary Fund (IMF) loans but by investment.

"Due to the law of the jungle, there will be no investment in the country. It is good that Saudi Arabia is coming but investment will come once there is rule of law in the country," he said.
