American Legion Auxiliary member celebrates 100th birthday: Community Voices

BEREA -- Florence A. Leopold celebrated her 100th birthday on July 11 with a party at American Legion Post 91 in Berea. She has been a member of the Legion Auxiliary for many years. The Auxiliary presented her with a special Auxiliary sweater and a pin marking the 100th anniversary of the American Legion.

Florence's late husband, Edward, was an Army veteran of World War II. He passed away five years ago. Son Ed Leopold is Post 91 commander. Florence lives in the family home in Brook Park with son Gary.

Tony D'Amico, from Brook Park Mayor Mike Gammella's office, presented her with a special proclamation.

Florence's advice for longevity: "Just live and don't worry about too many things."
