Maine public safety dispatcher arrested on child pornography charge
A Maine Department of Public Safety dispatcher was arrested Wednesday on a charge of possessing child pornography, department spokesman Steve McCausland said.
Eric Kramarz, 43, of Auburn, was arrested Wednesday at his apartment and taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.
Kramarz has been placed on administrative leave with pay, McCausland said.
Kramarz faces a charge of possession of sexually explicit material.
Police said they received a tip that Kramarz was using Twitter to talk to girls around the age of 13 and obtain sexually explicit photos, police said.
Investigators have reviewed computers at the Public Safety dispatch center as part of their investigation.
Kramarz has been a dispatcher for the past 16 years, McCausland said.
He was released on bail, officials at the Androscoggin County Jail said Thursday.
